Who is eligible for financial assistance?

We support individuals and families in the O'Fallon-Shiloh community, specifically within OTHS District 203.

What type of financial needs are supported?

We aim to support short-term financial needs, unexpected medical expenses, or other critical costs of living.

How does the nomination process work?

Fill out and submit the nomination form on our website. A member of our board will contact the nominator and the nominee to verify the need and discuss next steps.

Is the nomination process confidential?

Yes, all information is confidential unless otherwise agreed upon. We understand the sensitivity of this process and respect the privacy of those seeking assistance.

Can I nominate myself for assistance?

Yes, self-nominations are accepted. We also understand that not everyone has someone advocating for them and nominating yourself or your family members is welcomed. The same need verification process applies to self-nominations.

What happens if the request is outside the scope of O'Fallon Neighbors?

We are still open to reviewing and discussing every call for help. We know some requests may require further collaboration with other organizations, business partners and community members for an alternate solution.

How are funds raised and distributed?

Our nonprofit operates primarily through donations from our board, our community and our business partners. Once a need is verified, we distribute funds directly to the individual, family, vendor or service provider to ensure the funds are used appropriately. O'Fallon Neighbors is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Can I donate to O'Fallon Neighbors?

Absolutely! Donations can be made through the donation page on our website. Every contribution helps us support more families in need within our community.  Donate now!

How can I get involved beyond donating?

We're always looking for volunteers! If you're interested in getting involved, please contact us through the volunteer page on our website.

How quickly can financial assistance be provided after needs are verified?

Once a member of our board has met with the nominee and verfied their needs, most common requests for short-term financial assistance can be provided within a few business days

What criteria do you use to determine who receives financial assistance?

We will meet and talk with every nominee as part of the verification process. In some cases, we may request documentation showing need. In other cases, we can verify needs through the nominator, a vendor or service provider

What are the limitations on the amount of financial assistance per nominee?

We do have internal limits for short-term financial assistance, and it is at the discretion of our board to make exceptions. We also have the ability to lean on our members, business partners and other organizations for additional fundraising efforts.
